"WANTED POSTER"

Students study areas of the United States "Old West", the culture, occupations, crimes, etc.  Each student creates a "criminal" character they wish to portrait, a "normal" occupation they initially held, identifying features and trademarks of the crimes they commit, and their own physical identity complete with costume.

Students then work at the computer typing and formatting their "Wanted Poster".  Digital photos of students are taken "in costume", and are later inserted into the "Wanted Poster" to be printed!
"PLAYING THE UKELELE"

Students study instruments of the "Old West".  Fiddles, Banjos, Harmonicas, Pianos, Guitars...all played a part in the musical lives of the people.

Choosing the Ukelele for financial, storage, and ease of use reasons, (NOT for it being an "authentic Western instrument")--the students learn about the parts of the Ukelele, how to properly hold and maintain the instrument, 4-5 chords, playing techniques, and 3-4 Western songs.
